I AM! is the second of two recent works inspired by the renown flamenco dancer/choreographer Irene Rodriguez. This dramatic bronze sculpture depicts a dancer who has just completed a turn with her skirt still in motion swirling around her legs. Her arms are thrust skyward grasping toward the heavens. It is only a momentary stance before continuing on with her passionate dance.
I AM! was unveiled at the August 21, 2021 Open Studio at DeVries Fine Art International. The first sculpture in the edition of eight was purchased at the first Open Studio in May while it was shown in its original state as a wax model. The piece measures 19 inches in height and is mounted on a black marble base.
